Hi Kevin,

I did not want to added extra stuff to the new server that wasn't going
to be used.  The server will be fine sitting for the time being, as the
old server is still holding up.

By bare server, I mean that it is sitting at "init 3".  No graphics.  
Ultimately
I want it to be a KVM server, among other things.

I was just being nosey.

Good luck slaying the network issues!  (Don't forget tcpdump; I
always do.)
