I copied my .xmodmaprc to .Xmodmap but still, when I open a new tab, I have to run the command manually in order to get the keys swapped again. So xinitrc doesn't seem involved here. Is it possible that the terminal runs some other scripts after the .bashrc?
The same problem occurs with opening an xterm-window.
Not so, however, with gnome-terminal.
