Want xfce, not twm, as my vnc session wm

Hi,

I am using xfce 4.4 on the latest stable xubuntu, every so often the
system will close all of my programs and log out for no particular
reason. I disabled the screensaver thinking this may be the cause, but
it still happens, just not as often... ?

Very confusing. Is there another system that kicks in only after a
certain time ?
