Two "xfce" entries at login

I have two xfce sessions when I login; one of them is good while the
other is sorta broken (video flickers, different notification engine,
messes with my keyboard layout swithcer, among other things).

I found out that the listings in /usr/share/xsessions are identical to
the options I'm presented with at login, and while there really are
two "Xfce Session" entires, one of them is actually just a symlink to
the other.
