Hi everyone,
this isn't exactly Xfce related, but bear with me for a moment.

I'm happy to announce grub-choose-default 0.6, a GUI to set the grub
default boot entry.
  http://ds.mcbf.net/wiki/GrubChooseDefault

When switching OSes it is a pain to wait for the reboot to get to the
grub menu to select the other OS you want to boot. With
grub-choose-default you can quickly select the OS you want to boot,
reboot, and switch the default again from the other OS.

It's written in C/Gtk, and only supports grub2 (1.98+). A windows
version is available as well, see the homepage for more information.

One reason I post this here is that I designed the program so that it
can be used as a library (although a stand alone library is not yet
provided). It's not high priority for me, but it should not be much
work to integrate it into the session logout screen. I'd be interested
in hearing how many people would be interested in such an integration.

Thanks,
~David
