One issue I that I can report is that the plug-in fails to detect
proxy settings from the environment. I have relevant variables set:
liviu at localhost ~ $ env | grep -i proxy
http_proxy=SERVER:3128
ftp_proxy=SERVER:3128
rsync_proxy=SERVER:3128
https_proxy=SERVER:3128

It has no issues, though, with the manually specified proxy settings.
