Restoring Add/Remove Software selection in System sub menu

In the end, it seemed easier to do a reinstall to fix whatever I did. I 
restored my system from the DVD then I followed a post here 
http://www.aspireoneuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=4310
that changed my desktop to something more useful to me. The file that 
Add/Remove Software references seem to be something called pirut. I will 
explore that to see where it is and what it does.
