add-remove programs missing

I'm not sure how to locate information on specific topics, so - I have somehow managed to remove the add-remove programs choice from the System submenu on the advanced menu. I am running Xfce version 4.4.2 which came preinstalled on my Acer aspire 1. It was late and I was changing some settings on the Desktop (specifically, getting rid of the default environment).  I have traced back over the steps I took, but if I typed something incorrectly I can't find it. I hope there is a way to restore add/remove without doing a complete reinstall of the system.
