Xfce 4.6 RC1 strange behavior

For the record, I'm seeing the same here. Running stuff with
LC_MESSAGES=fr_FR.UTF-8 leads to the “no icons“ behavior.
May I ask how you installed Xfce on your Debian box? Was it using my
packages or built them yourself?
