Why grayed out icons in the Task List?

Hello all,

After upgrading to Ubuntu 9.04 I noticed a change in the Task List and task
pager (ctrl+tab).  Minimized applications have a faded/grayed icon.  See
here:

I was wondering if there's a way to disable this behavior?  It makes it
harder for my eyes to quickly find the application of interest.
