SCIM Not Working -- SOLVED

Dear Nanda and Workman

Thank you for your trying to help. But actually the problem was
entirely with Fedora 9 yum settings, if I am understanding it properly. 

Neither the Anaconda interface while one is installing, or even the CLI
yum thing does not install the very necessary package
'imsettings-xfce', when you install the Xfce-group. You have to install
it separately to make Scim work in Xfce in Fedora 9. And then running
im-chooser and scim-setup solve the problem after you restart X that is
Xfce. 

There are some other problems in Xfce in F9 too, like all three
'logout'/'reboot'/'shutdown' leading to the same logout, because
xfce-mcs-manager cannot connect properly the HAL thing as the error
messages come up on the console. This problem I could not solve till
now. Got on the Fedora Bugzilla
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=448194) that adding this
line 'ALL=NOPASSWD:/usr/libexec/xfsm-shutdown-helper' to /etc/sudoers
will solve the problem. But it did not. Anyway, it is not a major
problem.
