According to this: http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3496
it appears that this was specific to gtk+2-2.11.x (which later became
2.12.x series).  The problem is that Slackware 12.0 did not ship that
version of gtk+2 -- it came with one of the 2.10.x series.

Have you replaced the provided gtk+2 package with one from somewhere
else?  If so, you should *definitely* state that information when
asking for support, if only to clarify that you're not really running
Slackware 12.0 any more.
