Distribution Upgrade Halts Cursor in X

This is almost certainly an issue with your distribution and has
little to do with Xfce (which at most got upgraded from 4.4.2 to 4.4.3
- a bugfix release). You are much more likely to receive help in
Slackware related mailing lists or other support channels.
