Problem with Gnome Icon Theme

Hi,

I have a problem with Xfce icons. If I install the Gnome Icon Theme package, 
the horrible Gnome icons would always replace the Xfce icons. I don't know 
what to do. I have had this problem for serveral months under Gentoo, Debian 
and Arch.
