I compiled dbus with my xfce install, and dbus-glib, and it does work. 
However, when I select "File/launcher icons" from the Desktop setup, I 
get a window that comes up that says:

Trash Error

Unable to contact the Xfce Trash service.

Make sure you have a file manager installed that supports the Xfce Trash 
service, such as Thunar.

The thing is, after I close that box, it seems like everything is 
working.  I get the trash on my desktop, and can use it.  Of course I'm 
using Thunar.
