How do I move files in Thunar?

I have resisted asking this question because it's embarrassing and I 
figured the answer had to be in Help but I cannot find it.  My solution 
was to keep using another file browser / manager.  A recent post has 
prompted me to don sackcloth and ashes and ask.

When I drag a file from one folder to another, Thunar copies it instead 
of moving it.  How do I achieve a move, which I frequently want, instead 
of a copy, which I almost never do.

And while I'm on the subject, can Thunar create symlinks and, if so, 
how?  I use Midnight Commander normally but sometimes it's convenient to 
use the file browser.

I cannot find the words "move" or "link" in Thunar Help in this context.
