Orage: notifications?

You need to stop it first before starting...
It actually now just sends a signal to the
daemon orage running somewhere in the background....

You should see somethign like this:

Check with tail or less or vi...your grep does not show the
alarm line, so we do not know if Orage finds any alarms.

Ok. I think I know what the issue is.

The "alarm duration" you mention is actually alarm time
and tells how much earlier the alarm is sent.

In your case Orage event happens after 1 minute and alarm
5 minutes before that, which actually is 4 minutes ago. And as
Orage is real time tool and does not remember old alarms, it
does not show the alarm since the time has passed.

Try creating an event 1 hour in the future and set alarm
time to 50 minutes and then wait 10 minutes and you should
see the window.

Are you using the tray icon? You should see there tooltip that
lists all active alarms.
