Gnome desktop starts after every boot-up

Hi guys!

I like using xfce, but after every reboot the gnome dektop starts.

That's really annoying. (I have no idea why!)

I have to start the 'xfce desktop' manually via desktop preferences.

But is there any way how to load the xfce desktop automatically?

I tried to save the desktop session or not to load the "gnome 
compatibility mode...", didn't work at all.
