HTTP proxy settings

Hi list,

Where can I set HTTP proxy settings that Xfce will pick up? I've set the 
environment variable http_proxy in .zshrc and programs run from zsh in 
my terminal pick it up, but when they are run from the menu or a toolbar 
launcher in Xfce, they don't.

I'm using ubuntu dapper, which has version 4.3.90.2 (Xfce 4.4 BETA1) 
according to 'About Xfce'.
