Yeah, same goes with Thunar (although my previous post was showing
xfdesktop fr.po)

fr.po: UTF-8 Unicode English text, with very long lines
ofourdan at r3000:~/src/svn/thunar/trunk/po$ grep charset fr.po
"Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8\n"
Although I can reproduce the issue with fr_FR at euro...
