Are you using xfce4-weather-plugin ?
If yes, that's the problem. There is a bug in it which reveals itself
with glib 2.10. As a workaround you can launch xfce4-panel as it:
G_SLICE=always-malloc xfce4-panel
Or disable the xfce4-weather-plugin until the bug is found
