I guess I should really read up on GTK+ applications and how they check
(or should check) for settings when GNOME is not running.

Heck, I'm kinda curious if there is a general set of .Xresources
defaults for program fonts and other settings (and not just xterm)
anyway.

Sigh, too long using GNOME as a crutch I guess.
