I was actually trying to see whether there is a
workaround. I never suspected about a "crash" is a
bug, but I never filed a "bug report" to this list.
But the damn thing was so obviously a bug (not
necessarily in the original code ;)), it created a
long thread... Ubuntu forums are not very satisfactory
yet about xfce, apparently they need some time. As to
directly contacting developers, i am not very much
into it ;/. I'm not paying for any of it, so I won't
ask them to fix it. Just bring it up, if they're
interested in, they wil fix it anyway ;).
To recap: I'm not reporting a bug. To me, main outcome
was:
1) I learned that if xfdesktop crashes for whatever
reason, use Alt+F2
2) I learned how to customize Thunar context menu,
3) I started to pray Xfce team releases a new beta so
that Xubuntu guys update the package. Who knows, maybe
they will fix the problem...
other than that, there was some discussion about the
design of the menu, etc. The bug issue is secondary to
me. It will be fixed sooner or later. I would like to
be able to have Thunar's menu for Desktop menu though
:), at least as an option...
