xfwm problem?

Try to run xfwm4.

Go to Settings > Mouse > Cursor and select a theme.  If you don't have
any, download one from:
http://www.gnome-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=36&xsortmode=high&page=0
and extract to ~/.icons.
