Reading environment variables when launching programs.

Hello!

I have some enviroment variables set in ~/.bash_profile needed to correctly 
run a few applications. I put those applications in the pop down menu but the 
environment variables are not read when the applications are launched. Is 
there a way to make Xfce map those variables without writing a script to be 
launched instead of the real executable? I tried to write the declaration of 
the variables in .xsession but it didn't work!

Any hints?
