In current svn you can disallow with either environment variable or with 
--disable-desktop. This new xffm handles desktop the way nautilus does, 
but will not generate popup menu unless click on top of a desktop icon. 
This is so that you can use xfdesktop menu or whatever menu you like 
instead.
