What does xfsm-dns.c do ?

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but it sounds like the real problem is that
*something* is trying to resolve your hostname to an IP address, and you
don't have an entry in /etc/hosts for it.  Try adding something like:

127.0.0.1  myhostname  myhostname.mydomain

to /etc/hosts (obviously replace "myhostname" and "mydomain" with your
hostname and domain, respectively).
