Gnome desktop appears?

Hey, I use Ubuntu, and used apt-get to install xfce and the goodies pack.

I didn't have rox (at the time), so I opened nautiuls... and a Gnome
background appeared, along with an icon. Now when I right click on the
desktop, a gnome menu pops up instead of an XFCE one.

Can anyone tell me how to set everything back to default?

I've tried using synaptic to remove and reinstall it, but the gnome
background persists. I've also tried rm -rf ~/.config and then logging
back into XFCE, but it's still there.

Any help would be appreciated!
