Good to hear that you got Xfce installed by yum in the end, but you are
still left with a problem indicated by your error message that you first
posted when you were trying to build it from source. The message says
it all, when you know what t look for - from the above you have not
installed the developer packages so you have a system with NO capacity
to build ANY package from source because there is no compiler on your
system.
To fix it, either go back to your disks and install the developer stuff
or do "yum grouplist" to see what groups you have installed and what is
available to install. You will need at least "x86 Compatibility Arch
Development Support" & "X Software Development", and to build the Xfce
extras you will need "XFCE Software Development".
Grab more if you want to build lots of apps that aren't in the yum
repos, but don't be tempted to add lots of repos to get some packages
because it can really screw up your system if you end up having
incompatible repos. Go with as few as possible to start.

Gavin.
