Thunderbird dictionaries

I'm running Mozilla Thunderbird as my MUA, and I'm having trouble
installing a British English dictionary. The Web page says I can drop
the URL onto the extensions manager - I can't. It says then to save the
dictionary somewhere and run the extensions manager to install it, but
when I restart Thunderbird the dictionary is nowhere to be seen.

What other methods are there? And can I remove the US dictionary as well?
