xfce4-mixer problem

Hello Everyone

I'm having a little problem with XFCE 4.0.6 on FreeBSD 5.3 concerning
the volume control
(xfce4-mixer).

It works, but the little slider in the panel doesn't do anything. It
controls the "Vol" mixer, but my soundcard only responds to the "PCM"
mixer. Any way i can link the green bar to the PCM mixer instead? Or
the Vol mixer to the PCM mixer? There are no options in the Makefile
or any other documentation on the net i could find.
