Enable the windows key in xfce4

Hello

This might not be an xfce4 issue but rather a Debian or XFree issue
so apologies if that is so.

I want to map the windows key to some of my applications.
I am using XFce 4, version 4.0.6 from Debian unstable.

My /etc/X11/XF86config-4 file has:

#	Option		"XkbModel"	"pc104"
        Option		"XkbModel"	"microsoft"

(I changed it from "pc104")	

but even with that change, xev just prints:
XLookupString gives 0 bytes:  ""

when I press the windows key.

The keyboard applet in xfce4 appears only to 
change the mode to normal or emacs and adjust
the repeat speeds. 

Does anyone know how to make xfce4 "see" this key?
