The key is installing after gtk.  You probably need to do:

gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders > /etc/gtk-2.0/gdk-pixbuf.loaders

Adjust the path appropriately for your system.  Note that librsvg must
be installed to the same prefix as gtk.
