confused with "system" menu

And it cannot handle wildcards like "%U" :-O

I don't know why, but after some updates, all OO programs vanished from
the system menu at my Debian box. Never had the time to look after the
problem. After your mail, I've looked through the OO desktop files, and
voila, no quotation marks, but the above mentioned wildcard, and one
"slot:5500" option ("open from template" menu entry).

No I have removed all this "extra" stuff, and my OO entries are back
again :-)

Just curiosity: Is this a bug, or are the desktop files not standard
conform?
