Programs using X freeze while switching windows

Hi,

I really love using XFCE, but there is one pathetic flaw, that causes me pain:  while switching between applications using Alt+Tab keys for a longer while (Alt is pressed while I browse the list) everything that has something to do with X freezes for the time I browse the list, including music, except the music I play remotely through alsaplayer daemon.
It bugs me a lot, so I wanted to ask if there is or would/could be a workaround for this flaw in the future.  I think that it has something to do with window manager, because the same thing happened when I set the option not to draw contents of a window whilst moving or resizing it.
Once again, I would be very pleased to know this pathetic behavior is repaired in newer (probably CVS) versions of XFCE (using 4.0.6 from debian unstable) as I myself have not enough knowledge about X to repair it.
