Is it possible to use gnome/kde applets?

Is it possible to use applets for gnome or kde?
There are some applets very useful that belong to gnome or kde and that I want 
to use in xfce4. Is it possible?

I'm a newbee user. So please, give explanations acurately, please.

PS: I know that if I run gnome-panel then I could. But without load it, can I 
do that?
