where's the task bar?

Hi everyone,
I've just installed xfce on Mandrake 10.0 thru urpmi (xfce 4.0.3-2mdk); 
I like it very much, it seems to suit my needs perfectly. I only have 
one problem: I don't see (and cannot find anywhere) the taskbar.
I can customise it in the Settings, I can see it's supposed to stay on 
top of the secreen by default - but I don't see it...
Must there be something missing in my installation, or is there a way to 
make the taskbar appear?
