For a PII - XFCE or XFCE 4.2?

Did an HD Install of Knoppix 3.6 to an HP Vectra VL (PII 266, 64 megs
RAM, 1 Gig Swap Partition, 4 meg Video), and have modified it slightly
to bring up Kernel 2.6.9, and to make XFCE the default desktop.

Looking at XFCE4.2, there is some nice stuff there. But I'm concerned
that on my machine even the minimal additional overhead will make a
nice experience rather less so...

Any thoughts on this? Anyone in a similar situation who has already
made the switch?
