cool idea - just implemented it in xfdesktop CVS HEAD.  you can DnD a 
directory from xffm (and presumably, other filemanagers), and the file 
chooser has multi-select enabled.  adding another button to open a 
directory selector is a waste of space... and i don't feel like 
expending the energy ^_~.
