Cropped XFce Panel icons with GLib/GTK+ 2.4.2

I'm running XFce 4.05 on FreeBSD 5.2.1. Up until yesterday, I had no
problems (except for the one described here:
http://lunar-linux.org/pipermail/xfce/2004-May/009520.html).

Then I happened to upgrade GLib and GTK+ from version 2.4.1 to 2.4.2.
Now some of the icons on the XFce Panel appear cropped on the sides.

Resizing the XFce Panel doesn't help. Changing the icon theme doesn't
help. Rebuilding XFce doesn't help. Changing the orientation of the
Panel from horizontal to vertical just leads to the top and bottom of
the icons being cropped instead of the right and left sides.

Anyone else have this problem, or have any idea what I can do about it?
