Gnome icon themes

Using the latest XFCE4 in portage and am loving it! I'm using nautilus
(--no-desktop) as the file manager and I want to be able to use GNOME
icon themes for it. When I change the theme in the User INterface
settings for xfce, it works as long as I use the few standard gnome icon
themes. If I use any that I downloaded from gnome-look.org, all the
icons in Nautilus show up as the generic blank piece of paper. Any idea
what I have to do here?
