Run in Terminal problem

I have an app that works when I run it from an xterm.  However, if I 
make a launcher and tell it to run in terminal, a terminal window 
flashes up briefly, then disappears and the app doesn't run.  Am I 
missing something or is this broken.

The app is a Cisco vpnclient.  I normally run it with vpnclient connect 
myprofilename, then enter the username and password and the app then 
connects and sits there until I kill it.  While it's running I can then 
connect to the vpn.
