Problem changing ownership in Xffm

AFAIK, you need root privileges to chown a file, especially if you do
not own it. I guess that's why it's greyed out.
Options for modifying behaviour:
1- Have options non-grey and print the fail message to diagnostics
window.
2- If not root, test for sudo and ungrey if found, then run command
through sudo (with fail message to diagnostics too)
Any other option to change current behaviour?
