What makes Xfce so good?

Speaking of terminal apps....
I want terminal app that is gtk2 based since I like AA fonts, but I find
gnome-terminal too big and slow, so it doesn't fit nicely (IMHO) with
Xfce. 
Anyone know light and simple gtk2 terminal app?

(For example, I find Rox's Edit app very nice replacement for gedit, and
Rox's Archiver app as a replacement for FileRoller.)
