gtk vs gtk2+xft ???

Neither is explicitly for XFCE.  However, if you're using XFCE4 then you
already have gtk2 installed, and thus, the gtk2 version should prolly be a
safe choice.  If you're using XFCE3, then you would have gtk(1) installed.
