this doesn't do anything (thanx for trying);
besides, 'wait' doesn't do what you think it does (see 'man bash').
i've submitted a bug report (180).

a work-around is simply to run 'kdeinit' by hand from a terminal
as soon as XFCE has finished loading, tho' it's still less than ideal.
