Mandrake 10.0 with 2.6.3-4mdk, logging in with gdm (boots to telinit 5
every time).  NVIDIA GeForce2 with the (blush) nv drivers.  (I've been
lazy.)

I blame your RPMS... no, just kidding. ;)  You say it's a dm thing; how
exactly?
