xfwm4 final and too many workspaces

That file is a settings manager file. The settings manager tells the WM how many
workspaces to create (if my understanding is correct). If the settings manager
is not running, the WM will use an internal default or use xfwm4rc. You can find
an example xfwm3rc in the source package. I don't think the RPMs have it. That
might be a packaging bug. :-(
I think I posted something else today on how to use key themes. Check the
archives. Caveat: I use the defaults myself so I may be wrong. :-)

Yes, thats a good idea. If you do get things working to your satisfaction, it
would nice to post a note explaining the steps you took. We could use it as the
basis for better documentation for using xfwm4 stand alone.
