Huh? What could make you think it's alpha code? I just said I "do not
support it", but it's no alpha code. The code is fairly clean and works
well.

This said, I wonder why/how this gentleman posted that on slashdot
because I use that modified gtk version on a stoch Red Hat 9 and a Red
Hat 8.0 with XD2 without any problem at all.

Indeed, the pre-patched rpm also includes Red Hat patches. But again use
it at your own risk.
