Typical bonehead newbie error - I created a *file* called
~/Desktop/Autostart, and tried to call my scripts from there.

I went back through the startup scripts, and figured out the mistake and
all is well.

A note to the RH8 RPM maintainer:  It would be good if the rpm install
created that directory.  It's a subtle enough error for a newbie.
